Dr. Laura Wathen is originally from Bardstown, Kentucky, and earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry in 2016, where she received the Alpha Omega Scholarship Award for achieving the highest scholastic average in her graduating class.
With a decade of experience across private practice and group settings, Dr. Wathen provides a comprehensive range of services including cosmetic dentistry, Invisalign, CEREC same-day restorations, root canals, extractions, and dentures. After several years practicing in Fairhope and Saraland, she expanded her experience in Birmingham before returning to Saraland Smiles, a practice she’s proud to call home.
Patients often describe Dr. Wathen as gentle, thorough, and genuinely caring. Whether it’s a small filling or a full smile makeover, she’s committed to getting every detail right.
Outside the office, she enjoys live ‘80s music, outdoor photography, reading, and beach getaways. At home, she’s usually hanging out with her two dogs: Jennings the miniature dachshund and Dolly the golden spaniel.
